We are an independent counselling service born out of a desire to serve Brighton, Hove and surrounding areas by offering quality professional therapeutic care to the local community. We are here for those who wish to seek support within a caring and supportive environment.

Sometimes life is tough, whether it's a difficult situation or we simply feel we’re not coping well. We may struggle with change, our relationships, redundancy, depression or bereavement. There are many reasons why people speak with a counsellor and our aim as therapists is to be a listening ear and a support as you begin to process and try to make sense of your situation.

WHAT WE OFFER

We are a team of counsellors and therapists trained in talking and creative therapies and can provide:

- Short-term and long-term general counselling for adults
- Interactive work with 16+ teens.
- Dance Movement Psychotherapy
- Creative Arts Therapy
- A limited number of spaces for children dependent on therapist availability.

We work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.

We can provide remote counselling via telephone or Zoom and face to face sessions are based mainly in Hove.

OUR ETHOS

Spirituality is an important factor at the core of human wellbeing, so whatever community you are a part of on the wonderfully diverse south coast and beyond, we want you to be assured of our high regard for you as a physical, rational, emotional and spiritual being with a unique story. Whether you have a supportive community or none, are a person of faith or none, our message is that you matter whatever is going on for you right now.

PARTNERS AND AFFILIATES

As a professional service we are members of a regulatory body called the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and an associate member of the ACC (Association of Christian Counselllors). The team is made up of professionally qualified and trainee counsellors who attend various churches across Sussex.

Part of our heart to serve the Brighton and Hove community is that we offer our services to Friends First, a project initiated by Brighton & Hove churches, whose aim is to help those struggling with housing, getting back into work, addictions and psychological challenges.

"Charis were able to understand what my struggles and issues were and connect me with a counsellor who helped me see the deeper reasons for some of my actions. I feel significantly freer and equipped to handle any triggers that may cause a negative emotion within me." - CLIENT
